OINTMENTS AND CREAM

Making your own ointments and creams can ensure that they are specifically suited to your own health needs and will provide quick and easy remedies for a wide range of external problems.

ALOE VERA OINTMENT
Gently massaging swollen joints, aching muscles and varicose veins with this soothing, easily absorbed ointment reduces inflammation and swelling. It is also useful for csuts, burns and some dry skin infections. Massage it into the affected part regularly.

TO MAKE AN OINTMENT
Approx. 12 tsp (60g) coconut butter or beeswax (you may need to add more in a warm climate or less in a cold climate).
60ml coconut oil
120ml olive oil
1 cup (250ml) Aloe Vera juice
  • Melt the coconut butter or beeswax and oil in a heatproof bowl over a pan of hot water on the stove.
  • Remove the bowl from the heat and slowly pour the Aloe Vera gel into the wax mixture, beating it constantly until the mixture is cold.
  • Pour the ointment into a sterilized drk glass jar, seal and label. If refrigerated, the ointment may further solidify but will melt at room temperature. It will keep for 2 years.

Recommended Usage

Adults and children: Apply liberally and as often as required.
