THE SALON MANICURE

Nothing beats the indulgence of a salon manicure, especially if you have the time to be pampered. Give yourself a treat - simply relax and put yourself in the hands of a professional.

Old nail varnish is removed by swiping it off with a piece of cotton wool saturated with varnish remover. Nails are rinsed again immediately.

Nails are filed into shape and any small imperfections are buffed away.

A mild exfoliator is applied to dampened hands, which are gently massaged. The exfoliator is rinsed off and the hands are dried thoroughly.

Hands are soaked in soapy water for 10 minutes.

Cuticles are moisturized with a cuticle cream.

Cuticles are gently pushed back using a hoof stick.

Cuticles and hands are massaged to ensure the hand cream is absorbed.

Excess dead skin and hangnails are trimmed with small sharp nippers, ensuring that no living skin is cut.

Nails are buffed to remove any unevenness, imperfections or ridges.

Arms and hands are massaged with rich moisturizing cream.

Hands are submerged in a warm, nourishing vitamin E paraffin bath. Paraffin wax traps in heat and moisture and opens the pores of the skin. Hands are dipped a few times, with a few seconds in between each immersion, so that the wax builds up in layers. The hands are then wrapped in plastic bags and slipped into insulated terry towelling mitts. After 10 minutes, the wax is peeled off, leaving hands soft.

Nail varnish is applied according to your requirements - first the basecoat, followed by two layers of the nail varnish of your choice, and finally the topcoat
to seal and protect.
