It is a myth that pimples(zits) affect only teenagers. The fact is pimples can attack anyone at any age. They occur when the follicle opening is blocked, trapping the sebum and swelling it. This creates a perfect environment for bacteria to thrive.

FRUIT JUICES
Drink plenty of water and vegetable or fruit juices. Use cucumber or other fruit and vegetable packs to cure pimple scars.

NUTMEG
Maintain a diet that is rich in cottage cheese, fish and yoghurt. Make a paste from nutmeg and milk and use as a facial mask. Wash off with warm water and repeat two or three times every day.

LEMON JUICE AND ROSE WATER
Mix equal quantities of lemon juice with rose water. Apply the lotion on the face. Leave it to dry for some time and wash it well using fresh water. This is an excellent remedy which helps cure acne, pimples and reduces blemishes and scars.

TOMATOES
Apply ripe tomatoes pulp on pimples and keep up to one hour, then wash.

TOOTHPASTE
Apply toothpaste - actual paste, not gel - to the areas affected before bed. Wash off in the morning. If you have sensitive skin, do not use toothpaste. Your skin will get irritated and red.

GARLIC
Take a few pods of garlic and crush them fine. Add a few drops of honey and add some curd to make a paste. Apply gently on the pimples. Let it dry, and then wash gently without scrubbing. Regular use helps dry the pimples faster and healing is much quicker. Be careful to use this paste only on pimples. You can also rub the pimple(acne) with a fresh cut clove of garlic.

CUCUMBER
Blend cucumber and make a paste. Apply this as a mask on your face and leave it for half an hour and then rinse. This refreshes your skin and prevents acne.

ONION SEEDS AND MILK
Mix some dried onion seeds with little milk and add few lemon juice drops to it. Apply the mixsture on the face and neck before going to bed. Wash it off in the morning. It will really works for many people.

EGG WHITES
Egg whites are also good for curing acne. Clean your skin thoroughly with a cleanser and apply egg white with a cotton swab. This will help to remove acne.

DRIED BASIL LEAVES
Add three teaspoon of dried basil leaves to one cup boiling water and let steep for 10-20 minutes. After it cools, apply to affected area with a cotton ball. This is very good for acne treatment and tonic for problem skin.

GROUNDNUT OIL
Mix one tablespoon groundnut oil with one tablespoon fresh lime juice to prevent formation of blackheads and acne.

BAKING SODA
It is very cheap cooking ingredient that most people have in their kitchen. This can be used as a great scrub to exfoliate the skin, thus removing dead skin that eventually clog pores and lead to pimples and zits

MUD MASK

SALT WATER

QUICK TIPS TO FIGHT ZITS OR PIMPLES

  • The most basic care of pimple prevention is hygiene and preventive skin care.
  • Regular washing of the affected areas with mild soap is a must. However, face washing should not be overdone or the skin will become dehydrated.
  • Refrain from applying any make up or cream on the affected area. It worsens the situation.
  • If you have to wear make up, care should be taken. Used an oil-free, anti bacterial concealer, which blends the redness of your pimples into your skin colour.
  • Use facial mud masks. It shrinks the pimples and controls the oiliness.
  • Keep your face clean always. Dirt attracts bacteria.
  • Do not rub, press or squeeze your pimples. Otherwise, you risk spreading the bacteria. It is easy say than done. I, myself could not prevent from doing it as a result I have PERMANENT SCARRING on my face. So, don't follow my bad habit.
  • If you simply cannot resist the urge to pop your pimple, then wash your hands first. Gently squeeze the top of pimple using a swab of cotton or tissue. Clean the area properly after you are done. If the pus does not come out while squeezing, leave the pimple alone. It is not ready to pop.
  • Lemon juice diluted in water can be applied externally because of its antiseptic quality.
  • Tea Tree oil can also be applied directly to infected pores.
  • Vitamin A tablets are also a natural and effective cure. It promotes healthy skin.
  • Before bathing, apply a mixture of fresh tomato pulp, honey and rose-water to your face and keep for twenty minutes before washing off.
  • Directly, rub potato slices all over the face, helps to get rid of blemishes and pimple scar.
  • Drink plenty of water and vegetable or fruit juices.
  • Develop a skin care routine suited to your skin type and stick to it diligently. Remember, the chief cause of pimples is a combined activity of hormones, shredding of dead skins and bacteria.
